Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Intramolecular Down‐ and Up‐Conversion in Dimeric Tetracene Complexes Centered via Platinum(II) and Palladium(II)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐tetracene dimeric complexes are synthesized through the pyridyl coordination to either Pt(II) or Pd(II). Photophysical properties are systematically compared as a function of the metal using steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy. The Pt(II) dimer exhibits efficient intramolecular singlet fission and subsequent intramolecular up‐conversion ...

Lattice Symmetry‐Guided Charge Transport in 2D Supramolecular Polymers Promotes Triplet Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Singlet‐to‐triplet intersystem crossing (ISC) in organic molecules is intimately connected with their geometries: by modifying the molecular shape, symmetry selection rules pertaining to spin‐orbit coupling can be partially relieved, leading to extra ...

Op-Trans: An Optimization Framework for Negative Sampling and Triplet-Mapping Properties in Knowledge Graph Embedding

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Knowledge graphs are a popular research field in artificial intelligence, and store large amounts of real-world data. Since data are enriched over time, the knowledge graph is often incomplete.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Monochorionic triplet with concordant congenital cardiac defects

open access: yesJournal of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, 2013
The chances of congenital cardiac defects are often increased in multiple birth orders. However, there is a paucity of data on its incidence amongst triplets in Nigeria.

Biodegradable and Recyclable Luminescent Mixed‐Matrix‐Membranes, Hydrogels, and Cryogels based on Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks and Biopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Generation of a human induced pluripotent stem cell line JHUi003-A with homozygous mutation for spinocerebellar ataxia type 12 using genome editing

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2021
Spinocerebellar ataxia type 12 (SCA12) is caused by a CAG expansion mutation in PPP2R2B, a gene encoding a brain-specific regulatory unit of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A); while normal alleles carry 4 to 31 triplets, the disease alleles carry 43 to 78 ...
