Novel static mixers based on triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) architectures
Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, 2020Abstract Static mixers are frequently used in water treatment applications, for example as inline coagulators. A desired geometry of a static mixer is one that results in low mixing energy and high mixing efficiency. Triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) are architectures which are described mathematically such that the mean curvature is zero at ...

Biomechanics and Modeling in Mechanobiology, 2022
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) has a promising application in the design of bone scaffolds due to its relevance in bone structure. Notably, the mechanical properties of TPMS scaffolds can be affected by many factors, including the spatial angle and surface curvature, which, however, remain to be discovered.

The use of cellular materials with the geometry of triply periodic minimum energy surfaces (TPMES) is proposed for the creation of durable cellular materials with controlled acoustic characteristics. Homogeneous unit cells with the Primitive, Diamond, FRD and Gyroid topologies of different porosity were developed and their acoustic parameters were ...

3D-printed triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures as catalyst carriers
Chemical Engineering Research and DesignThe flow and forced convection heat transfer properties of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices were investigated both experimentally and numerically. The TPMS structures consist of periodically arranged Gyroid (G) unit cells of 81 % porosity and different unit cell sizes (2–4 mm).
