Triterpenes from Adiantum lunulactum

Fitoterapia, 2002
The petrol extract of the whole plant of Adiantum lunuactum yielded a new hopane triterpenoid characterized as 6 alpha-acetoxy-16 beta,22-dihydroxy-3-ketoisohopane, along with the known 3beta,6 alpha,16 beta,22-tetrahydroxyisohopane (mollugogenol A). The structures were elucidated by spectral as well as chemical studies.

Antitumoractive Endoperoxides from Triterpenes

Archiv der Pharmazie, 2009
AbstractA series of triterpene endoperoxides was synthesized and screened for antitumor activity in a panel of 15 human cancer cell lines by a sulforhodamine‐B (SRB) assay. The compounds induce apoptosis and show excellent antitumor activity.

Differential Partitioning of Triterpenes and Triterpene Esters in Apple Peel

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2018
Apple peel is a rich source of secondary metabolites, and several studies have outlined the dietary health benefits of ursane-type triterpenes in apple. Changes in triterpene metabolism have also been associated with the development of superficial scald, a postharvest apple peel browning disorder, and postharvest applications of diphenylamine and 1 ...

Triterpenes and Triterpene Esters from Lactuca Saligna

International Journal of Pharmacognosy, 1992
AbstractInvestigation of Lactuca saligna aerial parts revealed the presence of hexacosan-1–01. germanicol, taraxasterol and moretenol, as well as their acetate derivatives and fatty acid esters. Identification was performed through physical, chemical and spectroscopic methods.

Cytotoxic triterpenes fromCrataegus pinnatifida

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2000
Bioassay-guided fractionation of Crataegus pinnatifida (Rosaceae) gave two cytotoxic ursane-type triterpenes which were identified as uvaol (1) and ursolic acid (2) by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. 3-Oxo-ursolic acid (3) was synthesized from ursolic acid (2) by Jones method.

Triterpenes of Poria obliqua

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1961
A water extract of the fungus Poria obliqua has been shown to possess tumor-inhibiting activity against two test tumors. Two triterpene alcohols were isolated from the hexane extract, one of which was identified as lanosterol. The second, named obliquol, C30H50O2, was shown to have two hydroxyl groups and two double bonds, one of which is inert to ...

Triterpene antioxidants fromGanoderma lucidum

Phytotherapy Research, 1999
Ganoderma lucidum was studied for its antioxidative activity by bioassay guided isolation in conjunction with in vitro tests. The powdered crude drug was treated with boiling water and the aqueous extract (Ex1) was further separated to obtain terpene and polysaccharide fractions.

Triterpene Glycosides fromAstragalus angustifolius

Planta Medica, 2012
Six new cycloartane-type (1- 6) and four new oleanane-type (7- 10) triterpene glycosides were isolated from Astragalus angustifolius Lam., together with five known triterpene glycosides. Their structures were established by the extensive use of 1D and 2D-NMR experiments along with ESIMS and HRMS analysis.

Lupane-triterpenes fromBupleurum flavum

Natural Product Research, 2005
Two new triterpenoids, lup-20(29)-en-3 alpha, 28-diol (1) and lup-20(29)-en-3 alpha, 28,30-triol (2), have been isolated from aerial parts of Bupleurum flavum, a native plant of the Eastern Mediterranean area (Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey). Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis.
