Status of the KATRIN neutrino mass experiment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The KArlsruhe TRItium Neutrino (KATRIN) experiment is designed to measure tritium $\beta$-decay spectrum with enough precision to be sensitive to neutrino mass down to 0.2eV at 90$\%$ Confidence Level. After an initial first tritium run in the summer of 2018, KATRIN is taking tritium data in 2019 that should lead to a first neutrino mass result.

Tritium wastes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1951
This is a memorandum from the Hanford Operations Office about the possibility of tritium wastes escaping into the atmosphere. The waste which is disposed of in burial grounds eventually migrates to the Columbia River where it evaporates into the atmosphere. Also included in this memo is a statement of an error in the units of some data compiled for the

Development of a tritium release system for ceramic tritium breeder pebbles irradiated by high intensity DT fusion neutron Generator at INEST

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
For ceramic breeder pebbles used in fusion energy, the tritium release data under fusion neutron irradiation is very important and valuable. In this study, a tritium release system for ceramic tritium breeder is introduced, which is matched with the High

Romanian Tritium for Nuclear Fusion

open access: yes, 2017
The demand for tritium is expected to increase when ITER (the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) begins operation in the mid-2020s. Romania is expected to detritiate its CANDU (Canada Deuterium Uranium) units at Cernavoda starting 2024 ...

Tritium Inventory in ARIES-AT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This report documents an investigation into the tritium inventory expected in the ARIES-AT fusion reactor. ARIES-AT features silicon carbide fibers in a silicon carbide matrix as its primary construction. It uses the same fusion power core as the previous ARIES-RS.

KATRIN: A next generation tritium beta decay experiment with sub-eV sensitivity for the electron neutrino mass [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
With the compelling evidence for massive neutrinos from recent neutrino-oscillation experiments, one of the most fundamental tasks of particle physics over the next years will be the determination of the absolute mass scale of neutrinos. The absolute value of neutrino-masses will have crucial implications for cosmology, astrophysics and particle ...

Radioactivity in returned lunar materials [PDF]

open access: yes
The H-3, Ar-37, and Ar-39 radioactivities were measured at several depths in the large documented lunar rocks 14321 and 15555. The comparison of the Ar-37 activities from similar locations in rocks 12002, 14321, and 15555 gives direct measures of the ...
