Regrowth of Tritium Release from Tritium Contaminated Materials

Fusion Technology, 1995
Regrowth in tritium desorption from type 316 stainless steel, copper and borosilicate glass was studied. It was found that the tritium, which was penetrated into materials by long term contact, could not be easily desorbed by a stream of nitrogen gas ( dry, wet or 10 % H 2 ) at room temperature. The ratio of the tritium amount desorbed from surface by

Tritium Release from CTR Solid Blanket

Fusion Technology, 1985
In-situ tritium release behavior from Li/sub 2/O powder has been investigated under neutron irradiation at high temperatures. It was found that the chemical form of the released tritium depended strongly on the experimental conditions such as pre-treatment (dehumidification) of the sample and the H/sub 2/ addition to the sweep gas of helium.

Tritium Confinement, Retention, and Releases at the Tritium Laboratory Karlsruhe

Fusion Science and Technology, 2008
This paper describes the tritium confinement concept and the tritium retention systems at TLK. A description of the AMOR facility for the regeneration of the HTO loaded molecular sieve beds and the operational experience gained from the regeneration of molecular sieve beds (up to 20 times each) is also presented.

Tritium levels in milk in the vicinity of chronic tritium releases

Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2016
Tritium is the radioactive isotope of hydrogen. It can be integrated into most biological molecules. Even though its radiotoxicity is weak, the effects of tritium can be increased following concentration in critical compartments of living organisms. For a better understanding of tritium circulation in the environment and to highlight transfer constants

Tritium release from lithium silicate

Fusion Engineering and Design, 1989
Tritium release from lithium meta- and orthosilicate was studied inpile (LISA experiments) and out-of-pile. In addition to temperature, the dependence on neutron flux and purge gas flow rate, pressure and chemistry (additions of H2, O2 and moisture) were tested.

Tritium Release from Silica Glass

Fusion Science and Technology, 2002
We investigated tritium (T) release behavior from silica glass. The specimens were 8 kinds of commercially available silica glass. T was injected by the 6Li (n,α)T reaction of sintered pellets of lithium oxide (Li 2 O) into the silica glass with thermal neutrons in JRR-2 (VT-8) up to 5 × 10 18 neutrons/cm 2 at ambient temperature (about 350 K).

Tritium release assay for oleic acid desaturation

Analytical Biochemistry, 1972
Abstract The “tritium release” assay for the enzymic conversion of stearic acid into oleic acid introduced by Talamo and Bloch in 1969 (1) represented a major advance in the measurement of enzymic fatty acid desaturation. By measuring the release of tritium from the 9- and 10-positions of erythro-[9,103H2]stearic acid into water instead of isolating ...

Tritium transport calculations for the IFMIF Tritium Release Test Module

Fusion Engineering and Design, 2014
Abstract The IFMIF Tritium Release Test Module (TRTM) is projected to measure online the tritium release from breeder ceramics and beryllium pebble beds under high energy neutron irradiation. Tritium produced in the pebble bed of TRTM is swept out continuously by a purge gas flow, but can also permeate into the module's metal structures, and can be ...
