Full‐length transcriptome profiling of true bug mitochondrial genomes reveals the unique transcriptional regulation during insect evolution

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
The mitogenome was transcribed into complete primary polycistrons on both strands. The heteropteran mitochondrial transcription termination factor (HmTTF) functions as a bidirectional attenuator rather than a terminator, and co‐evolution of HmTTF and the binding sites was observed.

Comparative Analysis of Complete Chloroplast Genomes of Caltha scaposa for Identification and Phylogenetic Analysis

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study assembled and characterized the complete chloroplast genome of Caltha scaposa, revealing it has the shortest inverted repeat regions among examined Anemoneae taxa and identifying highly variable markers for future phylogenetic work. Phylogenomic analysis of 40 plastomes robustly resolves C.

The Mitogenomes and Phylogenetic Relationships of the Tribe Aedini in Culicidae (Diptera)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Aedini is the largest tribe in terms of species number and includes a large number of taxonomical complex assemblages in Culicidae. Its phylogeny and taxonomy have long been controversial and unresolved. This study endorses recent proposals to elevate many Aedes subgenera to generic rank, supports Harbach's revised generic taxonomic framework for its ...

Genome mining for radical SAM protein determinants reveals multiple sactibiotic-like gene clusters.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Thuricin CD is a two-component bacteriocin produced by Bacillus thuringiensis that kills a wide range of clinically significant Clostridium difficile. This bacteriocin has recently been characterized and consists of two distinct peptides, Trnβ and Trnα ...
