Abstract The relationships of Lycopodium and Lycopodiella (Lycopodiaceae) were investigated based on two plastid data sets (rbcL gene and trnL intron) from a representative sample of 21 species. Separate and combined analyses of the data reveal consistent patterns of relationship.

Lack oftrnL intron in the thermoacidophilic red algaGaldieria sulphuraria(Galdieri) Merola
Plant Biosystems - An International Journal Dealing with all Aspects of Plant Biology, 1999Abstract The plastid trnC‐trnL(UAA)‐ilvH region from Galdieria sulphuraria was cloned and sequenced with the aim of verifying the absence of the trnL intron. The sequence alignment shows both the absence of a trnL intron and the colinearity of the whole region of the plastidial DNA of G. sulphuraria with that of the other thermoacidophilic red algae.

The genus Asparagus comprises three subgenera of cladode bearing plants: Protasparagus, Asparagus, and Myrsiphyllum. The interspecific delimitation of the subgenus Protasparagus is ill-defined till date. In the present study, interspecific phylogenetic relationships among nine taxa of Protasparagus based on ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer ...

To obtain a refined molecular phylogeny of dipterocarp species in Southeast Asia, nucleotide sequences of matK, the intron of trnL, and intergenic spacer region between trnL and trnF in chloroplast DNA were determined in 16 species throughout 10 genera. In the resultant trees Southeast Asian dipterocarp species were divided into two clusters.

The African genus Leonardoxa (Leguminosae: Caesalpinioideae) comprises two Congolean species and a group of four mostly allopatric subspecies principally located in Cameroon and clustered together in the L. africana complex. Leonardoxa provides a good opportunity to investigate the evolutionary history of ant–plant mutualisms, as it exhibits various ...
