Reduction of cognitive fatigue and improved performance at a VR-based driving simulator using tRNS

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Cognitive fatigue (CF) increases accident risk reducing performance, especially during complex tasks such as driving. We evaluated whether transcranial random noise stimulation (tRNS) could mitigate CF and improve driving performance.

Hidden Markov Quantile Models With Trends for Analysing Air Temperature Data

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 6, May 2026.
There is the question of whether climate change, expressed by time‐trends in temperature, is of a heterogeneous nature or not. Here, the time‐trend heterogeneity argument has been investigated using Hidden Markov (HM) quantile time‐trends models in temperature time series.

Maternal Chrono‐Nutrition and Placental DNA Methylation: The BiSC Study

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
This is the first study to examine how the timing of a mother's meals during pregnancy relates to changes in placental DNA methylation, an epigenetic mark. We found that the timing of the last daily meal was most important. Some epigenetic changes were linked to genes involved in placental function and development, and the long‐term health consequences

Reinstatement of the name Anisochilus eriocephalus Benth. (Lamiaceae) supported by micromorphological and molecular data

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, Volume 2026, Issue 5, May 2026.
In 2019, A. J. Paton et al. proposed a new taxonomic combination, transferring Anisochilus carnosus (L.f.) Wall. ex Benth. to Coleus strobilifer (Benth.) A.J.Paton, and including Anisochilus eriocephalus Benth. within this broader circumscription.

Auditory Cortex tACS and tRNS for Tinnitus: Single versus Multiple Sessions

open access: yesNeural Plasticity, 2014
Tinnitus is the perception of a sound in the absence of an external acoustic source, which often exerts a significant impact on the quality of life.

Physiological markers of Trauma‐related nightmares among military personnel suffering from PTSD: A multicenter home‐recording study

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, Volume 80, Issue 5, Page 398-408, May 2026.
Aim Despite being one of the most disabling symptoms of post‐traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)—disrupting sleep continuity, reinforcing hyperarousal, and worsening psychiatric comorbidity—the physiological signature of Trauma‐related nightmares (TRNs) under naturalistic sleep conditions remains poorly characterized.

Anlagerung von Aminoacyl-tRNS an Rattenleber-Ribosomen

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung B, 1967
Interaction of Phe-tRNS with Poly-U-linked ribosome subunits from rat liver was investigated at different Mg2 +⃝-concentrations with and without transfer enzymes. Using Mg2 +⃝-concentration optimal for protein synthesis Phe-tRNS binding was found only in the presence of both complementarily acting transfer enzyme fractions with peptide synthesis ...

Repetitive reaching training combined with transcranial Random Noise Stimulation in stroke survivors with chronic and severe arm paresis is feasible: a pilot, triple-blind, randomised case series

open access: yesJournal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation, 2017
Background Therapy that combines repetitive training with non-invasive brain stimulation is a potential avenue to enhance upper limb recovery after stroke.

Entropy and Temperature From Black-Hole/Near-Horizon-CFT Duality

open access: yes, 2010
We construct a 2-dimensional CFT, in the form of a Liouville theory, in the near horizon limit of 4- and 3-dimensional black holes. The near horizon CFT assumes 2-dimensional black hole solutions first introduced by Christensen and Fulling and expanded ...

The effect of transcranial random noise stimulation on the movement time and components of noise, co-variation, and tolerance in a perceptual-motor task

open access: yesScientific Reports
There exist numerous factors that contribute to the amplification of errors and complexity in motor processes, among which variability and noise are particularly noteworthy.
