Doloisia_(Doloisia) skljari sp. n. is described. The mites were collected from Apodemus sylaticus in the ???Khomutovskaya step??? State steppe reserve (Donetsk Region, Ukrainian SSR). The new species is closely related to Doloisia synofi Oud emans, 1910; but differs in size.

7 species of chiggers from the Leptotrombidium genus are found on rodents from Iran. A description and drawings are given for the following 5 species: L. (Leptotrombidium) subsilvaticum sp. n., L. (E.) limpidum sp. n., L. (E.) biconcavurn sp. n., L. (E.) kazeruni sp. n. Data are also presented on the finding places in Iran and distribution of L.

New Guinea chiggers (Acari: Trombiculidae)

Ewing (1944) proposed the family Trombiculidae for those acariform mites commonly referred to as “chiggers.” These mites have seven distinct stages in their life cycle. Three of these stages are active (larva, deutonymph, adult) and four are inactive or calyptostases (egg, deutovum, protonymph, tritonymph).

The new species differs from the nearly related species Leptotrombidium intermedium europaeum Daniel et Breli h, 1959, in the formula of dorsal setae ??? 2-8-6-6...., in the smaller dimensions of the scutum and in the arrangement of the palpal tarsi.
