A morphometric study of Eutrombicula alfreddugesi (Acari: Trombiculidae) infesting four sympatric species of Tropidurus (Squamata: Tropiduridae) in northeastern Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesPhyllomedusa: Journal of Herpetology, 2011
We undertook a sampling program to understand the extent of morphological variation in Eutrombicula alfreddugesi among the fourhost species of Tropidurus at Morro do Chapéu, Brazil.

Distribution and Host Selection of the Chigger Mite Leptotrombidium rupestre, a Potential Vector of Scrub Typhus, in Southwest China. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
Based on field surveys in southwest China between 2001 and 2022, this paper retrospectively reports the distribution and host selection of L. rupestre in the region for the first time. A total of 4675 L. rupestre were identified from 28 species of small mammal hosts in 23 of 114 survey sites and it was mainly distributed in higher latitudes (31–33° N ...

In Vivo Observation of Trombiculosis with Fluorescence-Advanced Videodermatoscopy. [PDF]

open access: yesEmerg Infect Dis, 2020
Trombiculosis is a skin infestation by larvae of mites of the Trombiculidae family. We used fluorescence–advanced videodermatoscopy to diagnose trombiculosis in a woman in Italy with targetoid patches. This method might be useful for identifying atypical

Are whole‐organism performance and thermal preference linked to endo‐ and ectoparasites in a short‐lived lizard?

open access: yesEthology, Volume 129, Issue 8, Page 432-443, August 2023., 2023
We showed that parasitised and unparasitised garden skinks (Lampropholis guichenoti) did not differ in whole‐organism performance (endurance and foraging efficiency) or their thermal preference. However, sprint speed was negatively related to ectoparasite infection.
