Pronematinae (Trombidiformes: Iolinidae) from Brazil, with original and complementary descriptions of taxa as well as with a reappraisal of the subfamily and of Parapronematus

Acarologia
Pronematinae was originally proposed as a subfamily of Tydeidae Kramer, 1877 and later transferred to Iolinidae Pritchard, 1956. Although apparently omnivorous, some species of this group have been reported as predators of mites.

The species diversity and some features of ecology of tetranychid mites of the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve were investigated. As a total, 20 species and 11 genera of spider mites were found on the 58 green plantings. Some features of distribution and trophic specialization of tetranychid mites were established in this reserve.
