KRAS Mutations in Cancers: From Undruggable Dilemma to Precision Medicine

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
KRAS‐mutant cancers are therapeutically shaped by both allele identity and tumor context. Direct KRAS inhibition has achieved the greatest clinical success in KRAS G12C‐mutant NSCLC, whereas colorectal cancer often requires EGFR cotargeting and pancreatic cancer remains constrained by stromal and metabolic barriers. Shared resistance mechanisms include

Small Proteoglycans, Big Impact: Decorin, Biglycan, and Asporin in Musculoskeletal Tissue Health and Disease

open access: yesProteoglycan Research, Volume 4, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a dynamic and information‐rich network that integrates structural support with biochemical and mechanical signaling. Among its key regulatory components are the Small Leucine‐Rich Proteoglycans (SLRPs), a family of matrix molecules that coordinate extracellular architecture with cell signaling.

Genital Tract and Circulating CD8+ T Cell Phenotypes Vary Across the Menstrual Cycle

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Reproductive Immunology, Volume 96, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Problem The menstrual cycle consists of two main phases: the follicular phase, characterized by rising estradiol and low progesterone, and the luteal phase, marked by elevated progesterone following ovulation. Changes in sex hormones have profound physiological effects, yet their impact on immunity remains poorly understood.

Negotiating Reproductive Identity After Cancer: A Qualitative Systematic Review of Female Survivors' Post‐Treatment Fertility Experiences

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 29, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Fertility concerns are common among female cancer survivors and are shaped by sociocultural influences that extend beyond biomedical outcomes. Previous systematic reviews have consolidated evidence on fertility‐related distress but have tended to operate within clinical or descriptive frameworks.

A case of placental polyp after normal vaginal delivery

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2014
Placental polyp is retained placental tissue within the endometrial cavity, which forms a nidus for inflammation and bleeding. There are very few reported cases of the clinical placental polyp. Here, we report a case of 34-year-old G4L3Ab1 woman with the

Metformin Inhibits Trophoblast Ferroptosis by Suppressing ATF2 and Activating the PI3K/Akt/Nrf2 Pathway to Improve Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 18, 30 September 2026.
Metformin suppresses ATF2 expression, activating the PI3K/Akt pathway and promoting Nrf2 nuclear translocation. This upregulates GPX4, inhibiting ferroptosis in trophoblast cells. Erastin blocks system Xc−, depleting GSH and promoting ferroptosis. LY294002 and ML385 inhibit the pathway, validating the mechanism.
