ABSTRACT Biodiversity offers a rich source of bioactive compounds for drug discovery. We isolated Aspergillus fumigatus from compost in the Atlantic Forest and found its extract active against Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis. Two crude extracts, I06 and I75, were selected for further study.

Untargeted metabolic profiling of three body tissues from Holothuria cinerascens in South Africa using 1H‐NMR and UPLC–QTOF–MS revealed distinct tissue‐specific and seasonal metabolic variations, with the body wall and gut/mesentery exhibiting high metabolite diversity.

Amazonian Cyanobacteria as a Source of Bioactive Compounds With Antimicrobial and Cytotoxic Properties

ABSTRACT Cyanobacteria are photosynthetic microorganisms known for producing diverse bioactive compounds. This study explores the bioactivity of extracts and fractions from Amazonian cyanobacteria and their pigment and phenolic compound production. A fraction from Synechococcus sp. CACIAM 05 showed cytotoxicity against hCMEC/D3 and MG‐63 cells.

Biochemical Responses of Anopheles spp. Larvae to a Novel Brazilian BR101 Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis Formulation: Oxidative Stress, Detoxification Enzymes, and Safety for Nontarget Notonectidae and Gerridae Aquatic Insects

Bti BR101 exhibits strong larvicidal activity against Anopheles larvae spp., with dose‐dependent mortality and LC50 of 3.13 µg/mL. Bti increases ROS, lipid and protein oxidation, and activates antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GPx) and detoxification pathways (MFO and esterases), indicating moderate oxidative stress.
