Diurnal sampling reveals significant variation in CO2 emission from a tropical productive lake
It is well accepted in the literature that lakes are generally net heterotrophic and supersaturated with CO2 because they receive allochthonous carbon inputs. However, autotrophy and CO2undersaturation may happen for at least part of the time, especially

Water mite predation on zooplankton of a tropical lake [PDF]
Water mite (Krendowskia sp.) predation on zooplanktonic species from Lake Monte Alegre (São Paulo State, Brazil) was tested in laboratory experiments. One cladoceran, Daphnia gessneri, two copepods, Tropocyclops prasinus and Thermocyclops decipiens, and Chaoborus larvae III and IV were supplied as prey to adult mites.

Limnological changes in Dom Helvécio Lake (South-East Brazil): natural and anthropogenic causes
In order to verify changes in physical, chemical and biological features of Dom Helvécio Lake (South-East Brazil), this study compares previous and recent data obtained from limnological investigations over three decades. Plankton species composition and
