RNAi Regulator C3PO Promotes Arbovirus Infection in Insect Vectors
Advanced Science, EarlyView.RNA interference (RNAi) is vital for eukaryotes to defend against virus infection. The C3PO complex takes part in RNAi but its role in regulating viral infection remains unclear. This work finds that insect C3PO facilitates arbovirus replication by degrading precursors of miRNAs, especially miR‐971‐3p.

Repurposing of Chemokine Antagonists for Combined Phase‐Resolved Spinal Cord Injury Treatment
Advanced Science, EarlyView.Spinal cord injury (SCI) in mammals is accompanied by a massive cytokine storm in cerebrospinal fluid, mainly driven by CXCL1, IL‐6, and CCL2‐5. Sub‐acute phase is mostly associated with IL‐2, IL‐7, CCL22, and CX3CL1, whereas TNFα and IL17α permanently persists in CNS even weeks following SCI.

Angewandte Chemie, EarlyView.In this study, we repurposed human Aurora kinase‐specific inhibitors to identify potential antimalarial agents. Two inhibitors, hesperadin and TAE684, exhibited sub‐micromolar activity across multiple parasite stages, with hesperadin demonstrating significant potency and selectivity by specifically targeting PfArk1.
