Genetic Confirmations of Dwarf Lemurs Across Madagascar Highlights Complex Biogeographic Patterns 马达加斯加全境鼠狐猴的遗传确认揭示了复杂的生物地理模式

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
Using a diagnostic mitochondrial marker gene, we document the presence of furry‐eared dwarf lemurs, a species known from Madagascar's eastern montane rainforests, in several forest fragments across the island's central highlands. These findings raise new questions about when this species colonized these sites, how they tolerate these changing and ...

Biomass Characteristics of Tropical Montane Rain Forest in National Park of Hainan Tropical Rainforest

open access: yesLand
Forest biomass, as a carrier of carbon, is an important indicator for judging forest productivity, stability and sustainable development capacity. Using the survey data of sample plots in eight forest areas in central Hainan, the biomass distribution of ...

Fluxos de óxido nitroso em solos com cobertura de Floresta Ombrófila Densa Montana na Serra dos Órgãos, Rio de Janeiro

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2012
Soil fluxes of N2O were determined over one year in montane tropical rainforest of southeastern Brazil with average annual rainfall of 2.8 m. Annual mean (± standard deviation) and median N2O fluxes were 3.0 ± 1.4 and 2.7 µg N m-2 h-1, respectively, is 5-

Conversion of rainforest to oil palm and rubber plantations alters energy channels in soil food webs

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2019
In the last decades, lowland tropical rainforest has been converted in large into plantation systems. Despite the evident changes above ground, the effect of rainforest conversion on the channeling of energy in soil food webs was not studied.

Mapping Skid Trails and Evaluating Soil Disturbance From UAV‐Based LiDAR Surveys in Mediterranean Forests

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil disturbance resulting from forest harvesting activities can have significant and lasting environmental consequences, particularly in sensitive ecosystems such as Mediterranean forests. Skid trails, the routes used by machinery to extract timber, are among the most critical areas of impact, and their detection is critical for assessing ...

Portulaca eggliana (Portulacaceae), a new species from the Brazilian Amazonian savannas

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
A new species of Portulacaceae from the Amazonian savannas of northern Brazil is herein described and illustrated. Portulaca eggliana is morphologically related to P. umbraticola, but differs in the number of involucral leaves, sepal morphology, bracteole shape, and seed surface.
