Modeling flow-related phosphorus inputs to tropical semiarid reservoirs
Journal of Environmental Management, 2021Hydrological data and total phosphorus (TP) concentration at reservoirs' outlet were combined in a transient complete-mix model to obtain mean input loads and inlet concentration-flow relationships. This approach was designed to investigate the issue of phosphorus pollution in semiarid regions with intermittent rivers.

Microbial Food-Web Drivers in Tropical Reservoirs
Microbial Ecology, 2016Element cycling in aquatic systems is driven chiefly by planktonic processes, and the structure of the planktonic food web determines the efficiency of carbon transfer through trophic levels. However, few studies have comprehensively evaluated all planktonic food-web components in tropical regions.

Snail Marisa Cornuarietis in Tropical Hydroelectric Reservoirs
Journal of Environmental Engineering, 1984For 3 yr, populations of Marisa cornuarietis, the ampullarid snail used in bilharzia control, were monitored in 28 hydroelectric and multi‐purpose reservoirs in Puerto Rico to establish the habitat requirements for this biological control agent.

Algal Bioassays of two tropical Rhodesian Reservoirs
Acta hydrochimica et hydrobiologica, 1975AbstractPossible nitrogen and phosphorus limitation of algal growth in two tropical impoundments was investigated using pure culture bioassays. The test organism was Selenastrum capricornutum. Phosphorus was indicated as a primary growth limiting nutrient in Mazoe Dam while in Lake McIlwaine nitrogen was generally indicated as limiting.

Zooplankton Distribution in Tropical Reservoirs, South China
International Review of Hydrobiology, 2003AbstractThe zooplankton of 18 reservoirs of South China was investigated in 2000. 61 Rotifera species, 23 Cladoceras and 14 Copepodas were identified. The most frequent Rotifera genera were Keratella, Brachionus, Trichocerca, Diurella, Ascomorpha, Polyarthra, Ploesoma, Asplanchna, Pompholyx and Conochilus.
