Top‐Down and Bottom‐Up Drivers of Soil δ15N Spatial Patterns in a Tropical Savanna
Abstract Although stable nitrogen isotopes (δ15N) can provide a powerful integrative tracer of localized nutrient cycling across heterogeneous savannas, the relative influence of top‐down versus bottom‐up drivers in shaping these spatial patterns remains largely unresolved.

Abstract Vapor pressure deficit (VPD), a key indicator of atmospheric dryness, has markedly increased across most global land areas due to progressive warming. Although site‐scale studies show that increasing VPD may enhance plant transpiration (Tran) and influence water and energy fluxes between land and atmosphere, this relationship has not been ...

Serpentine Biocrust Microbes Maintain Nitrogen Cycling Under Drought and Heavy Metal Stress
This study highlights the complex interplay between soil geochemistry and moisture availability in shaping microbial communities within wetter and drier serpentine and non‐serpentine biological soil crusts. It demonstrates that both factors influence the structure of nitrogen‐cycling microbial communities and the processes they mediate.
