The Interaction between Tropomyosin-Related Kinase B Receptors and Presynaptic Muscarinic Receptors Modulates Transmitter Release in Adult Rodent Motor Nerve Terminals [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Neuroscience, 2010
The neurotrophin brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), neurotrophin-4 (NT-4) and the receptors tropomyosin-related kinase B (trkB) and p75NTRare present in the nerve terminals on the neuromuscular junctions (NMJs) of the levator auris longus muscle of the adult mouse. Exogenously added BDNF or NT-4 increased evoked ACh release after 3 h.

The interaction between tropomyosin-related kinase B receptors and serine kinases modulates acetylcholine release in adult neuromuscular junctions

open access: yesNeuroscience Letters, 2014
We conducted an electrophysiological study of the functional link between the tropomyosin-related kinase B (trkB) receptor signaling mechanism and serine-threonine kinases, both protein kinase C (PKC) and protein kinase A (PKA). We describe their coordinated role in transmitter release at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) of the Levator auris longus ...

Pericyte-mediated regulation of capillary diameter: a component of neurovascular coupling in health and disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Because regional blood flow increases in association with the increased metabolic demand generated by localised increases in neural activity, functional imaging researchers often assume that changes in blood flow are an accurate read-out of changes in ...

INHIBITION OF TROPOMYOSIN-RECEPTOR-KINASE B AND PHOSPHOINOSITIDE 3-KINASE/PROTEIN KINASE B SIGNALING CASCADE

open access: yesINDONESIAN JOURNAL OF PHARMACY, 2014
We examined hippocampal changes in TrkA/B phosphorylation on Tyr490/Tyr516 of TMT-treated mice in a time-

Pharmaceutical Characterization of Tropomyosin Receptor Kinase B-Agonistic Antibodies on Human Induced Pluripotent Stem (hiPS) Cell–Derived Neurons [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, 2017
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a central modulator of neuronal development and synaptic plasticity in the central nervous system. This renders the BDNF-modulated tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TrkB) a promising drug target to treat synaptic dysfunctions.

VEGF Mediates Retinal Müller Cell Viability and Neuroprotection through BDNF in Diabetes

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2021
To investigate the mechanism of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in Müller cell (MC) viability and neuroprotection in diabetic retinopathy (DR), we examined the role of VEGF in MC viability and BDNF ...

Expression of Neurotrophins and Their Receptors Tropomyosin-related kinases (Trk) under Tension-stress during Distraction Osteogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The localization and expression of neurotrophins and their receptors during distraction osteogenesis was investigated in 72 male rat femurs (11 weeks old) to further clarify the concurrence of cellular and molecular events of new bone formation.

Altered Pharmacological Efficacy of Phenobarbital with the Treatment of 7,8-Dihydroxyflavone, an Agonist of Tropomyosin Receptor Kinase B, in Rats

open access: yesBiological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2023
From our previous observation that the anesthetic effects of phenobarbital potentiate in rats with a decreased cerebral protein expression of the potassium chloride cotransporter KCC2 (SLC12A5), an in vivo study was conducted to clarify whether the pharmacological effect of phenobarbital alters by stimulating the cerebral tropomyosin receptor kinase B (

Changes in expression of BDNF and its receptors TrkB and p75NTR in the hippocampus of a dog model of chronic alcoholism and abstinence [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2015
Chronic ethanol consumption can produce learning and memory deficits. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptors affect the pathogenesis of alcoholism. In this study, we examined the expression of BDNF, tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TrkB)
