The Tropos project was launched in the Fall of 1999 with main objective the development of a methodology for building agent-oriented software systems. The methodology was grounded on i* and was first presented in full at the CAiSE 2001 conference. This short article details some of the directions that were pursued in the project since that time.

Treatment of non-ideality in the SPACCIM multiphase model – Part 1: Model development [PDF]
Ambient tropospheric deliquesced particles generally comprise a complex mixture of electrolytes, organic compounds, and water. Dynamic modeling of physical and chemical processes in this complex matrix is challenging.

Location-based Modeling and Analysis: Tropos-based Approach [PDF]
The continuous growth of interest in mobile applications makes the concept of location essential to design and develop software systems. Location-based software is supposed to be able to monitor the location and choose accordingly the most appropriate ...

Abstract At the end of May 2025, extremely strong wildfires in Canada produced several pyrocumulonimbus clouds lifting the smoke particles up to the lower stratosphere. Stratospheric aerosol optical depths of more than 2.5 were observed by the ATmospheric LiDAR (ATLID) onboard of the Earth Cloud, Aerosol and Radiation Explorer (EarthCARE) satellite ...

Small differences in chain‐length or topology induce stepwise phase separation in short‐chain ELP mixtures. ABSTRACT Elastin‐like peptides (ELPs) comprise repetitive pentapeptide sequences and exhibit liquid–liquid phase separation through lower critical solution temperature‐type behavior.

Applying tropos to socio-technical system design and runtime configuration [PDF]
Recent trends in Software Engineering have introduced the importance of reconsidering the traditional idea of software design as a socio-tecnical problem, where human agents are integral part of the system along with hardware and software components ...
