Photochemistry of tropospheric ozone
Journal of Geophysical Research, 1977A photochemical equilibrium model of minor constituent chemistry in the troposphere was constructed to investigate the photochemistry of tropospheric ozone. We find that photochemical production must be supplemented by additional sources to account for observed ozone levels in clean air, while photochemical loss is more important than surface ...

Tropospheric Ozone and the Greenhouse Effect
1994Global changes in emissions of the non-greenhouse gases nitrogen oxides (N0x), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and carbon monoxide (CO), affect the concentrations of greenhouse gases, in particular of ozone. The chemical mechanisms causing these changes were investigated with a global two-dimensional model, and the greenhouse effect of tropospheric ...

On the origin of tropospheric ozone
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1980The effects of NOx (NO + NO2) intrusion from the stratosphere on photochemical ozone production in the upper troposphere are investigated. Using the currently accepted reaction rate coefficients, we find that this upper tropospheric ozone source may be significantly larger than the direct injection of ozone from the stratosphere.

The origin of ozone in the troposphere
Nature, 1978Examination of the distribution of tropospheric ozone indicates that surface destruction in the Northern Hemisphere (NH) should be about three times larger than in the Southern Hemisphere (SH). If, according to the traditional understanding of ozone, this species were a passive tracer in the troposphere, a threefold larger flux out of the stratosphere ...

Simplified kinetics of tropospheric ozone
Ecological Modelling, 1996Abstract Though air quality modelling has reached a stage of extreme complexity, this simple model is intended to demonstrate how the basic mechanism of tropospheric ozone can be explained with a very simple dynamics, if the model is adjusted to the field situation with the aid of an efficient parameter calibration algorithm.

Tropospheric ozone in Croatia has been measured on various locations since 1975. These locations includes sites as Puntijarka (where ozone is measured continuously since 1989) and the town of Zagreb, Split, Šibenik, Zadar, Dubrovnik and Osijek. Short measurements campaigns took place along the Adriatic coast at Rovinj, Omišalj, Mali Lošinj, Zavižan, Iž,

Tropospheric Ozone: The Dynamics of Human Exposure
Toxicology and Industrial Health, 1989The conditions in the ambient atmosphere conducive to ozone exposure are examined, and placed into a context of the time arid locations where individuals would be expected to be affected by high ozone. This is done for both 1 h and 8 h averaging times.

The small‐scale vertical variability of tropospheric O3 and CO is examined from a set of simultaneous measurements obtained in July and August 1974, between 55°S and 67°N. From this set of vertical profiles, it is noted that many of the fluctuations are coincident in both species, and a method is presented that quantifies the correlation between the ...

QSAR Prediction of Ozone Tropospheric Degradation
QSAR & Combinatorial Science, 2003AbstractThe lifetime of organic chemicals in the atmosphere can be calculated from a knowledge of the rate constant of their reaction with free radicals (OH., NO3.) and O3. The rate constant for the tropospheric degradation of 125 organic compounds by reaction with ozone, the least widely and successfully modelled degradation process, is predicted here
