Real-world outcomes of PD-L1 inhibitors combined with thoracic radiotherapy in the first-line treatment of extensive stage small cell lung cancer

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2023
Background The CREST study showed that the addition of thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) could improve the survival rate in patients with extensive stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), but whether TRT can bring survival benefit in the era of immunotherapy ...

Local wellposedness of quasilinear Maxwell equations with absorbing boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this article we provide a local wellposedness theory for quasilinear Maxwell equations with absorbing boundary conditions in $\mathcal{H}^m$ for $m \geq 3$.

Molecular theranostics: principles, challenges and controversies

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 156-164, March 2025.
Molecular theranostics offers a powerful tool to drive precision medicine in nuclear oncology. While theranostics is not a new principle in nuclear medicine, recent advances in instrumentation and radiopharmacy have driven a reinvigoration and a broader suite of applications.

Effects of testosterone and high‐dose anabolic steroids on orthodontic‐induced bone remodeling and root resorption: An animal study

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This study investigates the impact of disruptions in testosterone levels on bone remodeling, root resorption, and periodontal ligament (PDL) during orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) in a pubertal male rat model. Methods Testosterone deficiency was induced through orchiectomy, and the anabolic‐androgenic steroid (AAS, testosterone ...

A Pilot Study Using a Web Survey to Identify Characteristics That Influence Hypogonadal Men to Initiate Testosterone Replacement Therapy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Men's Health, 2018
Men with hypogonadism (HG) who choose testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) may have distinct characteristics that provide insight as to why they may/may not initiate therapy.

Contralateral Spread of Asymmetrical Tremor in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Parkinsonian tremor usually starts asymmetrically. The mid‐term prognosis of this lateralized tremor is unknown, as is the development of tremor in the contralateral arm. Objective To investigate the occurrence of contralateral tremor in the Parkinson's Progression Marker Initiative database, with data available for 7 years ...

Thoracic radiotherapy may enhance the survival of patients with low‐risk advanced lung adenocarcinoma based on protein biomarkers

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
The prognosis of LUAD was significantly influenced by many clinical and protein biomarkers. A risk model was developed to help identify advanced LUAD patients who would benefit from thoracic radiotherapy, and thoracic radiotherapy just significantly improved the survival of low‐risk patients but not that of high‐risk.
