Accuracy of Dynamic Virtual Articulation: Trueness and Precision

Journal of Prosthodontics, 2019
AbstractPurposeTo study the effects of altering condylar settings and pin openings on the trueness and precision of virtual articulators vs. mechanical articulators.Materials and MethodsMaxillary and mandibular typodonts with fiducial markers were mounted on a mechanical Artex‐CR articulator, and the mandibular teeth were prepared to allow guidance ...

Clinical Factors Influence the Trueness of Intra-oral Scanning.

The European journal of prosthodontics and restorative dentistry, 2019
The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the influence of adjacent teeth in the trueness of digital impressions. In this study the first premolar on a typodont mounted in a phantom head was prepared for an all ceramic crown. Three different operators scanned the tooth with an intraoral scanner, with three different clinical scenarios: with no ...

Edentulous jaw impression techniques: An in vivo comparison of trueness

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2019
Simplified edentulous jaw impression techniques have gained popularity, while their validity has not yet been evaluated. The purpose of this clinical study was to compare the trueness of maxillary edentulous jaw impressions made with irreversible hydrocolloid (ALG), polyvinyl siloxane (PVS), PVS modified with zinc oxide eugenol (ZOE) (PVSM), and an ...

Comparing Three Methods to Measure Putting Green Trueness

International Turfgrass Society Research Journal, 2017
Since there was not a standard method to measure putting green trueness, a golf course and plot study were conducted to compare three methods to measure putting green trueness. In 2013, the Royal & Ancient (R&A) “Holing Out Test” (HOT), a visual bobble test, and a ball spread test were conducted on 150 greens from 50 New Zealand golf courses ...

Testing the trueness of circular surfaces: a simple holographic method

Applied Optics, 1979
A new holographic method where the object motion or variation is transferred to some other subject (we can call it a probe) is suggested. The theory is developed and verified experimentally for an Ealing precision self-centering lens holder as the probe. The method possesses many advantagesover the conventional holographic interferometry, some of which

Trueness of intraoral scanning of edentulous arches: A comparative clinical study

Journal of Prosthodontics, 2022
AbstractPurposeTo compare the accuracy of intraoral scanning (IOS) of the edentulous arch with the hybrid protocol of cast digitization (CD), and to investigate the effect of arch type and area on trueness.Materials and methodsParticipants that were edentulous in both arches were recruited.

Assuring trueness of analytical results

Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 1994
A true analytical result presumes an analytical procedure without systematic errors. They can be detected by comparing the analytical results with the true value or with an accepted reference. Systematic errors are always superimposed by the random error, therefore such a comparison must include statistical tests.
