A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Repetitive acceptance sampling plan based on truncated life test for type-I half-logistic Burr X distributions

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA)
In this manuscript, we developed a repetitive acceptance sampling inspection plan $$( RASP)$$ ( R A S P ) for type-I half-logistic Burr X ( $$ TIHLBX$$ TIHLBX ) distribution based on time truncated scheme.

Moving Average Control Charts for Burr X and Inverse Gaussian Distributions

open access: yesOperations Research and Decisions, 2020
The Burr X and inverse Gaussian (IG) distributions have been considered to design an attribute control chart for time truncated life test with the moving average (MA) scheme w.

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

A time truncated attribute control chart to monitor urgent physiological investigations turnaround times

open access: yesScientific Reports
An attribute control chart is designed for the time truncated life test when the quality characteristic follows the new Lomax Rayleigh Distribution (NLRD).

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Understanding heavy tails in a bounded world or, is a truncated heavy tail heavy or not? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We address the important question of the extent to which random variables and vectors with truncated power tails retain the characteristic features of random variables and vectors with power tails. We define two truncation regimes, soft truncation regime

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

A LOW-LOAD-TRUNCATION METHOD FOR FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH TESTS

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2016
Based on the dependence of fatigue crack growth( FCG) threshold on stress ratio,a low-load-truncation method for FCG tests is proposed. The effects of FCG property, stress amplitude and stress ratio are considered by this method.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
