Truncated Egalitarian solutions
Social Choice and Welfare, 1984The paper investigates a certain class of solutions to the bargaining problem with a varying set of agents belonging to a finite universe of agents. The class is defined by four conditions: symmetry, independence of irrelevant alternatives, continuity and monotonicity. Thus, no optimality conditions are involved.

Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics, 2014
The statistical analysis of data can be heavily influenced by measurements of extreme value. If such measurements are contained in the remote tail ends of the true population distribution from which they are drawn, they are referred to as outliers. Neglecting to filter outliers from a sample can distort statistical computations and result in faulty ...

Sampling truncated distributions
Behavior Genetics, 1973It is pointed out that the difference between the means of two populations is alwaysgreater than the difference between the sample means derived from the two distributions truncated at a lower limit, upper limit, or both. The form of the distributions is assumed to be identical but is otherwise arbitrary.

Truncating Hyperbolic Densities
Computational Methods and Function Theory, 2001The truncation technique for hyperbolic densities in combination with a version of the Ahlfors-Schwarz lemma [\textit{D. Minda}, Complex Variables, Theory Appl. 8, 129-144 (1987; Zbl 0576.30022)] is used in order to prove some classical covering and distortion results in the theory of analytic functions.

Truncation Trees in Hierarchical Truncated PluriGaussian Simulation
2023Geological uncertainty is a major source of risk in resource projects and must be characterized. Extensive research has been undertaken in the development of sophisticated techniques given the economic impact of this uncertainty. The Hierarchical Truncated PluriGaussian (HTPG) simulation is well‑known among existing categorical modeling techniques for ...

THE TRUNCATED BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTION
Annals of Eugenics, 1947The articles published by the Annals of Eugenics (1925–1954) have been made available online as an historical archive intended for scholarly use. The work of eugenicists was often pervaded by prejudice against racial, ethnic and disabled groups. The online publication of this material for scholarly research purposes is not an endorsement of those views

Theoretical distribution of truncation lengths in incremental truncation libraries
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 2003AbstractIncremental truncation is a method for constructing libraries of every one base pair truncation of a segment of DNA. Incremental truncation libraries can be created using a time‐dependent nuclease method or through the incorporation of α‐phosphothioate dNTPs by PCR or by primer extension (THIO(pcr) truncation and THIO(extension) truncation ...
