Multi-level image thresholding based on Kapur and Tsallis entropy using firefly algorithm
Journal of Interdisciplinary Mathematics, 2020Image segmentation is necessity of many application like brain tumor detection, optical character recognition, thermal energy leakage detection, Face recognition etc. multilevel thresholding is the complex task to find optimal threshold. Entropy plays an

Automatic SAR Image Registration via Tsallis Entropy and Iterative Search Process
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2020Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image registration is a process of geometrically aligning two or more remote sensing images, acquired at different times, from different viewpoints or from different sensors.

The Tsallis Entropy as a Social Entropy
2019 IEEE 1st Sustainable Cities Latin America Conference (SCLA), 2019We analyze social disorder using the Tsallis entropy that is characterized by having the pseudo-additivity property and being this used to feature certain dynamical systems in nature. By taking advantage of this property, we apply this entropy to social systems that are showing chaotic behavior due to the conjugation of one or more anomalies.

Image thresholding using Tsallis entropy
Pattern Recognition Letters, 2004Image analysis usually refers to processing of images with the goal of finding objects presented in the image. Image segmentation is one of the most critical tasks in automatic image analysis. The nonextensive entropy is a recent development in statistical mechanics and it is a new formalism in which a real quantity q was introduced as parameter for ...

Measuring the complexity of complex network by Tsallis entropy
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2019Measuring the complexity degree of complex network has been an important issue of network theory. A number of complexity measures like structure entropy have been proposed to address this problem.

A Novel Adaptive Sampling by Tsallis Entropy
Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualisation (CGIV 2007), 2007Monte Carlo is the only choice of physically correct method to compute the problem of global illumination in the field of realistic image synthesis. Adaptive sampling is an appealing tool to eliminate noise, which is one of the main problems of Monte Carlo based global illumination algorithms.

Generalization of Shannon’s theorem for Tsallis entropy
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1997By using the assumptions that the entropy must (i) be a continuous function of the probabilities {pi}(pi∈(0,1)∀i), only; (ii) be a monotonic increasing function of the number of states W, in the case of equiprobability; (iii) satisfy the pseudoadditivity relation Sq(A+B)/k=Sq(A)/k+Sq(B)/k+(1−q)Sq(A)Sq(B)/k2 (A and B being two independent systems, q∈R ...
