The Tsallis Entropy as a Social Entropy

2019 IEEE 1st Sustainable Cities Latin America Conference (SCLA), 2019
We analyze social disorder using the Tsallis entropy that is characterized by having the pseudo-additivity property and being this used to feature certain dynamical systems in nature. By taking advantage of this property, we apply this entropy to social systems that are showing chaotic behavior due to the conjugation of one or more anomalies.

Image thresholding using Tsallis entropy

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2004
Image analysis usually refers to processing of images with the goal of finding objects presented in the image. Image segmentation is one of the most critical tasks in automatic image analysis. The nonextensive entropy is a recent development in statistical mechanics and it is a new formalism in which a real quantity q was introduced as parameter for ...

A Novel Adaptive Sampling by Tsallis Entropy

Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualisation (CGIV 2007), 2007
Monte Carlo is the only choice of physically correct method to compute the problem of global illumination in the field of realistic image synthesis. Adaptive sampling is an appealing tool to eliminate noise, which is one of the main problems of Monte Carlo based global illumination algorithms.

Generalization of Shannon’s theorem for Tsallis entropy

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1997
By using the assumptions that the entropy must (i) be a continuous function of the probabilities {pi}(pi∈(0,1)∀i), only; (ii) be a monotonic increasing function of the number of states W, in the case of equiprobability; (iii) satisfy the pseudoadditivity relation Sq(A+B)/k=Sq(A)/k+Sq(B)/k+(1−q)Sq(A)Sq(B)/k2 (A and B being two independent systems, q∈R ...

QUADRATIC TSALLIS ENTROPY BIAS AND GENERALIZED MAXIMUM ENTROPY MODELS

Computational Intelligence, 2012
In density estimation task, Maximum Entropy (Maxent) model can effectively use reliable prior information via nonparametric constraints, that is, linear constraints without empirical parameters. However, reliable prior information is often insufficient, and parametric constraints becomes necessary but poses considerable implementation complexity ...

Inequalities for relative operator entropy in terms of Tsallis’ entropy

Asian-European Journal of Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, we obtain new inequalities for relative operator entropy [Formula: see text] in terms of Tsallis’ relative entropy [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text] in the case of positive invertible operators [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text]. Further bounds for [Formula: see text] are also provided.
