Hybrid simulated annealing using Tsallis statistics

open access: yesComputer Physics Communications, 1999
We use the Hybrid Monte Carlo method to sample the Tsallis configurational probability p.x/ which depends on the parameter q. We use here a homogeneous Markov chain which satisfies the detailed balance condition for all values of q and we apply this method to Simulated Annealing optimization problems.

On the Impact of Tsallis Statistics on Cosmic Ray Showers

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2016
We investigate the impact of the Tsallis nonextensive statistics introduced by intrinsic temperature fluctuations in p-Air ultrahigh energy interactions on observables of cosmic ray showers, such as the slant depth of the maximum Xmax and the muon number

Tsallis Wavelet Entropy and Its Application in Power Signal Analysis

open access: yesEntropy, 2014
As a novel data mining approach, a wavelet entropy algorithm is used to perform entropy statistics on wavelet coefficients (or reconstructed signals) at various wavelet scales on the basis of wavelet decomposition and entropy statistic theory.

Power-Law distributions and Fisher's information measure

open access: yes, 2003
We show that thermodynamic uncertainties (TU) it preserve their form in passing from Boltzmann-Gibbs' statistics to Tsallis' one provided that we express these TU in terms of the appropriate variable conjugate to the temperature in a nonextensive context.

Black hole thermodynamics via Tsallis statistical mechanics

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C
Abstract An investigation of black hole thermodynamics based on Tsallis statistical mechanics is explored through the study of the thermodynamics of a gas system located near the horizon of a black hole. In spite of the difficulty in exploring black hole thermodynamics through statistical mechanics, the entropy of the nearby gas system is ...

Tsallis' q index and Mori's q phase transitions at edge of chaos

open access: yes, 2005
We uncover the basis for the validity of the Tsallis statistics at the onset of chaos in logistic maps. The dynamics within the critical attractor is found to consist of an infinite family of Mori's $q$-phase transitions of rapidly decreasing strength ...

Tsallis and Levy statistics in the preparation of an earthquake [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2008
Precursory fracture induced electromagnetic (EM) emissions, rooted in opening cracks and ranging from MHz to kHz, with the MHz appearing earlier, are produced and detected both at laboratory and geophysical scale. Recently, we have proposed the following

Transverse Momentum Spectra of KS0 and K*0 at Midrapidity in d + Au, Cu + Cu, and p+p Collisions at sNN=200 GeV

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2015
We analyze transverse momentum spectra of KS0 and K*0 at midrapidity in d + Au, Cu + Cu, and p+p collisions at sNN=200 GeV in the formworks of Tsallis statistics and Boltzmann statistics, respectively.

Stability Analysis of Magnetized Quark Matter in Tsallis Statistics

open access: yesUniverse
In this work, we employ the nonextensive Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model to analyze the thermodynamic properties of magnetized quark matter. The nonequilibrium state is described in Tsallis distribution by a dimensionless parameter q.

Galaxy Distributions and Tsallis Statistical Mechanics

open access: yes, 2000
Large-scale astrophysical systems are non-extensive due to their long-range force of gravity. Here we show an approach toward the statistical mechanics of such self-gravitating systems (SGS). This is a generalization of the standard statistical mechanics based on the new definition of entropy; Tsallis statistical mechanics.
