Transition state theory with Tsallis statistics

Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2009
AbstractWe discuss the rate of an elementary chemical reaction. We use the reaction path and especially its saddle point on the potential energy surface. The reaction path connects reactant and product of a reaction over the transition state (TS). Usually, the TS is assumed near or at the single saddle point of the reaction path. By means of comparison

ENERGY FLUCTUATIONS IN UNNORMALIZED TSALLIS STATISTICS

Modern Physics Letters B, 2011
In this paper, we investigate the fluctuation of the energy in the canonical ensemble in the setting of unnormalized q-expectation value theory in Tsallis statistics. After obtaining the general expression, we compare it with the energy fluctuation deduced from the generalized fluctuation-dissipation theorem.

Revisiting disorder and Tsallis statistics

Science, 2003
In his article, “A fresh take on disorder, or disorderly science?” (News Focus, 23 Aug., p. [1268][1]), Adrian Cho reports on a new theory of disorder. It may be useful to the reader to supplement this discussion with more substantive information ([1][2]–[4][3]).

Why Tsallis’ statistics?

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2004
Abstract Non-extensive thermostatistics is a new paradigm statistical mechanics (SM) that has reached the rather mature age of 15 in 2003. It has considerably extended both SM formalism and its range of applicability. It constitutes one of physics’ new frontiers, with advances being made almost on a weekly basis.

Exploiting Tsallis Statistics

1999
Two incarnations of the canonical ensemble probability distribution based on the generalization of statistical mechanics of Tsallis are described. A generalization of the law of mass action is used to derive equilibrium constants. Reaction rate constants for barrier crossing are derived using the transition state theory approximation.

Traveling salesman problem and Tsallis statistics

Physical Review E, 1995
A generalization of the stochastic method of simulated annealing algorithm based on Tsallis statistics is proposed. This algorithm is considerably faster than the traditional ones in solving the traveling salesman problem. Acceptable solutions are found in fewer steps and higher temperatures than both the classical and the fast simulated annealings ...

Tsallis statistics and fully developed turbulence

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 2000
Summary: We present an analysis of fully developed turbulence based on the assumption that the underlying statistics of the system is that of Tsallis ensemble. The multifractal spectrum \(f_T(\alpha)\) corresponding to Tsallis-type distribution function is determined self-consistently in the sense that all parameters can be obtained through the ...
