The full-length TSH receptor is stabilized by TSH ligand
Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling, 2023The receptor for thyroid stimulating hormone (TSHR), a GPCR, is the primary antigen in autoimmune hyperthyroidism (Graves' disease) caused by stimulating TSHR antibodies. While we have previously published a full length model of the TSHR, including its leucine rich domain (LRD), linker region (LR) and transmembrane domain (TMD), to date, only a partial

IMMUNOPRECIPITATION OF TSH‐TSH RECEPTOR COMPLEXES
Clinical Endocrinology, 1985SUMMARYThe ability of Graves' sera to interact with the TSH receptor crosslinked to a 125I‐labelled photoactive derivative of TSH has been investigated. Crosslinked complexes were prepared using non‐purified detergent solubilized human thyroid and guinea pig fat TSH receptors. Affinity purified porcine TSH receptor preparations were also used.

Pituitary, 2006
Thyrotropin (TSH) adenomas are uncommon tumors of the anterior pituitary. Clinically, they may present with hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, hypopituitarism, or visual loss. Proper diagnosis requires appropriate neuroendocrine evaluation. Although transsphenoidal surgery remains the first-line treatment, adjuvant medical therapy is frequently required ...

A Rare Cause of Discordant TSH: MACRO-TSH
Acta Endocrinologica (Bucharest), 2015Background. When the laboratory results are not compatible with the clinical features of the patient, the presence of assay interference should be considered.

The interference of anti-TSH autoantibody on clinical TSH detection
ObjectiveIt is well known that macro-thyroid-stimulating hormone (macro-TSH) could interfere with the detection of TSH. The anti-TSH autoantibody is an essential component of macro-TSH. However, the epidemiological characteristics and the clinical interference of the anti-TSH autoantibody are unclear.MethodsIn this study, the radioimmunoprecipitation ...

Inhibition of endogenous TSH in rats by antiserum to bovine TSH

Recombinant TSH-Receptor for Determination of TSH-Receptor-Antibodies
Experimental and Clinical Endocrinology & Diabetes, 2009We have expressed the complete coding sequence of the human TSH-R in eucaryotic cells. Limiting dilution enabled us to select two clones, JP09 and JP26, which have formed the basis of binding and bioassays respectively, for TSH-R antibodies. Results obtained in the binding assay correlated well with those obtained in the TRAK (Henning Berlin) assay ...

TSH CROSSLINKS TO THE TSH RECEPTOR THROUGH THE β SUBUNIT
Endocrinology, 1985TSH binds specifically to the TSH receptor present on the surface of thyroid follicular cells and consequently activates adenylate cyclase. It was not known, however, which of the two subunits of the TSH bound to the receptor. By covalently crosslinking TSH to its receptor and characterizing the product with antisera specific for either the alpha or ...
