GBR-TSI allele frequency differences

open access: yes, 2019
Individuals from the GBR and TSI populations from 1000G Phase 3 were assigned binary phenotype labels and a chi square test was performed for allele frequency differences.

Cognitive and Demographic Associations of Dementia‐Related Behavioural Changes in Adults With an Intellectual Disability: Findings From the IDS‐TILDA Study

open access: yesJournal of Intellectual Disability Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) are at an increased risk of developing dementia. Early detection is essential for providing appropriate support, yet identifying dementia‐related changes is challenging due to pre‐existing cognitive impairments.

Prognostic factors for thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulin normalization in moderate-to-severe Graves’ orbitopathy: a 36-month longitudinal study

open access: yesBMC Ophthalmology
Purpose The primary objective of this study was to identify predictive factors linked to the normalization of thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulin (TSI) levels in patients diagnosed with active, moderate-to-severe Graves’ orbitopathy (GO).

Determination of time-dependent uncertainty of the total solar irradiance records from 1978 to present

open access: yesJournal of Space Weather and Space Climate, 2016
Aims. The existing records of total solar irradiance (TSI) since 1978 differ not only in absolute values, but also show different trends. For the study of TSI variability these records need to be combined and three composites have been devised; however ...

Comparative functional morphological study of the tarsal joint mobility in artiodactyls and perissodactyls in light of astragalar morphological differences

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
This study investigated how variations in the shape of the astragalus affect tarsal joint behavior, using CT scans. In artiodactyls with a double‐pulley astragalus, the calcaneus shifted plantarly during plantarflexion. This suggests the movement increases hindlimb functional length and contributes to enhanced running speed.

Conspecific cueing or cooperative feeding?—Foraging stable flies are visually attracted to conspecific flies

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
In two‐choice laboratory bioassays, food‐deprived and CO2‐stimulated stable flies were offered paired landing platforms that were baited or not (control) with conspecific flies. The presence of conspecifics prompted the attraction and landing of foraging stable flies.

Total Solar Irradiance (TSI)

open access: yes, 2004
The National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) offers text descriptions of composite, individual and archival Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) data from various satellites. TSI describes the radiant energy emitted by the sun over all wavelengths that falls each
