Change of iron species and iron solubility in Asian dust during the long-range transport from western China to Japan [PDF]
In the North Pacific, transport and deposition of mineral dust from Asia appear to be one of major sources of iron which can regulate growth of phytoplankton in the ocean. In this process, it is essential to identify chemical species of iron contained in

Graphene iodide oxidation is regulated by Dirac cone engineering. Electrostatic gating tunes the Fermi level to control local iodide oxidation reaction activity, while magic‐angle twisted bilayer graphene creates flat‐band‐derived interfacial states that promote charge transfer and iodine‐species interaction, revealing a nanoscale route to electronic ...

Combining recently established two ground‐breaking concepts, the adoption of WCAs and the use of alkoxyalkylamine‐based solvents in electrolyte formulations for rechargeable magnesium metal batteries, has led to unexpectedly unsuccessful electrochemical Mg plating/stripping performance. Comprehensive experimental and computational analyses revealed the

We apply ex situ and in situ scanning transmission X‐ray microscopy to reveal the structural degradation of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell catalyst layers due to conditioning and thermal heating of the catalyst coated membrane. We observe a redistribution of the ionomer and carbon‐black in the catalyst layer, as well as nanoscale membrane ...

Upon UV irradiation, flexible and tough hydrogels are formed rapidly (>0.5 s) from dilute (>0.5 wt%) solutions of o‐ethylnitrobenzene–modified PVA. At ∼1.5 wt%, the hydrogels withstand up to 10 MPa compression, remain handleable even after 200‐fold swelling.

Una visita a Kokudo Chirii-in. L'autorità di Informazione Geospaziale del Giappone
The head office of Kokudo Chiri-in, GSI for short, is in Tsukuba (Ibaraki Prefecture) a city located about an hour's train ride northeast of Tokyo. The GSI could be said to be the National Agency for Geodesy and Cartography of Japan whose origins date ...
