Leveraging Data‐Driven and Fundamental Insights for Electrolyte Innovation in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Using 640 curated electrolyte formulations, we apply data‐driven analysis to reveal how molecular features govern coulombic efficiency (CE) in lithium metal batteries. Fluorine content correlates positively with CE, while oxygen, carbon, and higher boiling points correlate negatively.

Esterified Cholesterol Conjugates Enable LNP‐Mediated mRNA Delivery to the Blood–Brain Barrier Following Intravenous Administration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A cholesterol‐conjugated lipid library enabled the identification of a ligand‐free LNP platform for efficient mRNA delivery to brain endothelial cells via systemic administration. This platform achieves selective BBB targeting without disrupting barrier integrity, and enables modulation of neuroinflammation and vascular function without requiring trans‐

Topological Spin‐Texture Transitions in van der Waals Magnets Revealed by X‐Ray Fourier Transform Holography

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Applied here for the first time to a 2D material, high‐resolution synchrotron x‐ray Fourier transform holography directly images topological spin textures in Fe3GeTe2. Combined with atomistic tight‐binding simulations including itinerant electrons and Rashba spin‐orbit coupling, the approach reveals labyrinth, skyrmion, and mixed phases, and uncovers ...

Poly(Alkoxythiophene) Rod‐Coil Block Copolymers for Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present the first synthesis of poly(3‐alkoxythiophene) rod‐coil block copolymers as a new architecture for OMIECs. Incorporating PEG and PLLA coils can enhance device performance beyond the homopolymer. The figure‐of‐merit depends uniquely on coil length.

Bayesian Estimation of Generalized Log-Linear Poisson Item Response Models for Fluency Scores Using brms and Stan

open access: yesJournal of Intelligence
Divergent thinking tests are popular instruments to measure a person’s creativity. They often involve scoring fluency, which refers to the count of ideas generated in response to a prompt.

Measurement of the top quark mass in the tt¯→ lepton+jets tt¯→ lepton+jets and tt¯→ dilepton tt¯→ dilepton channels using √s=7 TeV ATLAS data

open access: yes, 2017
The top quark mass was measured in the channels tt → lepton+jets and tt → dilepton (lepton = e, μ) based on ATLAS data recorded in 2011. The data were taken at the LHC with a proton–proton centre-of-mass energy of √s = 7 TeV and correspond to an ...

Band Alignment of Grafted Si/Ge0.89Sn0.11 Heterojunction Determined by X‐Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate the band alignment of a monocrystalline grafted p‐type Si/Ge0.89Sn0.11 heterostructure using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The bandgap of the Ge0.89Sn0.11 epilayer of 0.50 eV was first determined and cross‐verified using photoluminescence spectroscopy, infrared transmission, and theoretical calculation.

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...

RyR isoforms and fibre type-specific expression of proteins controlling intracellular calcium concentration in skeletal muscles

open access: yes, 2006
Muscle fibres which shorten with high maximum shortening velocity also exhibit fast kinetics of contraction, i.e. short values of time to peak tension and time to half relaxation. This short review aims to discuss the molecular basis of such correlation,
