Hematologic Toxicities and Determinants Among Patients With Breast Cancer Treated With Doxorubicin–Cyclophosphamide Followed by Paclitaxel in Northwest Ethiopia: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aim Hematologic toxicities are common during breast cancer chemotherapy, but data from Ethiopia are limited. This study assessed hematologic toxicities and associated factors among patients treated with doxorubicin‐cyclophosphamide followed by paclitaxel (ACT) regimen in Northwest Ethiopia.

Tobacco Smoking and Cardiovascular Health in Africa: Trends, Interventions, and Policy Implications—A Narrative Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Tobacco smoking in Africa presents a significant public health challenge, particularly concerning cardiovascular health among young adults and men. While global smoking prevalence has declined, World Health Organization (WHO) projections estimate that the total number of tobacco smokers in Africa will rise from 57 million ...

Eupatilin Alleviates Acute Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury in Rats via the Akt/GSK‐3β Pathway by Targeting COXs

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 10, October 2026.
It has been reported that eupatilin exerts cardioprotective effects after myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury (MIRI). This study further found that Eupatilin alleviated acute MIRI in rats by specifically inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COXs) and activating the Akt/GSK‐3β pathway, providing a theoretical basis for the application of eupatilin in ...

RAFT Copolymerization of DMAEA and AETAC Toward Charge‐Shifting Copolymers With Tunable Heparin Complexation

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 19, 6 October 2026.
Copolymers based on charge‐shifting (DMAEA) and permanently charged (AETAC) cationic acrylates were copolymerized via the RAFT process to achieve polycations with well‐defined composition. Moderate content of AETAC did not affect hydrolysis rates but significantly enhanced heparin binding.
