Sprays of precursor solutions are used in flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) to produce functional nanoparticles with specific properties. The present study concerns the precursor titanium(IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) in p-xylene. A dilute monodisperse spray carried

The blue color of titanium dioxide after photocharging by a reaction with 2‐propanol under oxygen‐free conditions is studied as a function of the crystal phase(s). Color depth, and color stability under ambient conditions, are not only a function of the polymorph but also related to particle size and oxygen accessibility.

Economic Incentives for Indirect TTIP Spillovers. CEPS Special Report No. 94/October 2014 [TTIP Series No. 2] [PDF]
A deep, comprehensive and ambitious TTIP should not undermine or otherwise negatively affect the WTO and its signatories. Among other things, this means that trade diversion ought to be minimised and positive spillovers stimulated.

TTIP: Political and Economic Rationale and Implications [PDF]
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership will reduce tariffs and lower regulatory hurdles that currently impair trade between the EU and the US. However, TTIP has been controversial from the outset. Non-governmental organisations are concerned about lowered health and environmental standards, unions fear a further weakening of labour ...

Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for the Extraction of Methyl Yellow From Spiked Aqueous Medium
ABSTRACT Methyl yellow imprinted polymers (MY‐MIPs) were synthesized via modified precipitation polymerization approach and successfully applied for the adsorption of methyl yellow (MY) from spiked aqueous media. For the synthesis, acrylamide (Aam) was used as functional monomer while 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and triethoxyvinylsilane (VTES)

Framing EU trade policy online: the case of @NoAlTTIP on Twitter
Since the argumentative turn in EU studies, research has shown that civil society activists can challenge frames promoted by EU institutions and incumbent groups, and influence public opinion in the EU. However, most studies of civil society mobilisation

This review highlights how plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition enables atomic‐scale control of interfacial composition, defects, and energetics. By linking plasma–surface interactions to macroscopic performance, PE‐ALD provides a versatile platform for engineering functional interfaces in photocatalytic, membrane, and energy‐conversion systems ...

Strontium titanate photocatalysts with tailored size, morphology, and porosity are evaluated for UV‐driven gas‐phase VOC degradation. A sol–gel‐derived nanostructured STO exhibits enhanced charge transfer and surface accessibility, outperforming commercial STOs and approaching TiO2 activity for ethanol and propionic acid oxidation, while revealing ...
