Does incidental endometriosis at laparoscopic tubal sterilization increase future health care utilization? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Objectives: To identify if patients diagnosed with incidental endometriosis at the time of laparoscopic tubal sterilization experience a greater utilization of physician office visits for pelvic pain, gynecological surgeries, and/or pain medications ...

Oral Motion‐Powered Smart Dental Implant Abutment for In Situ Antibacterial and Cell Adhesion Through Piezoelectric Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We proposed a method based on the piezoelectric effect and fabricated an implant abutment on the basis of piezoelectric ceramic. Under physiological occlusal pressure, the oral motion‐powered smart dental implant abutments interacted with water and oxygen, promoting the formation of reactive oxygen species and achieving a synergistic and highly ...

Reinnervation of Muscle Targets Enhances the Separability of Motor Unit Signals Following Peripheral Nerve Transfers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Injured or cut peripheral nerves can be surgically rerouted to reinnervate new muscle targets. This study demonstrates reinnervated muscles exhibit enhanced separability between individual motor unit signals, which can simplify signal recording and decomposition. These findings highlight the potential of reinnervated muscle to serve as a key biological

Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non‐invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta‐band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro and augments hippocampal neurogenesis in amouse model of Alzheimer's disease‐like amyloidosis.

Multimodal Multiorgan‐on‐a‐Chip Platform for Probing Liver‐Tumor Interactions and Advancing Prodrug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a multimodal multi‐OoC platform that overcomes current limitations in liver‐tumor interaction studies and prodrug screening. By integrating dynamic microfluidic circuits, electrochemical sensing, and mass analysis, this platform enables non‐invasive, longitudinal monitoring of drug metabolism and hepatotoxicity, offering a ...

A Biomimetic Lubricant Captures Hyaluronic Acid In Situ to Regenerate Cartilage: From Bench to Bedside

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

Age and Number of Children in Tubal Ligation Patients in Hamadan Province (1991 – 1995)

open access: yesپزشکی بالینی ابن سینا, 2000
This survey is to show how many women younger than thirty or with more than three children are tubal ligated in hamadan. All of tubal ligation operations from 1991 – 1995  including 18100 cases were evaluated.

Fallopian tube cyst: a rare complication of tubal sterilization

open access: yes, 2016
Tubal sterilization is one of the most commonly employed permanent method of contraception, although it is considered very safe, rarely a cyst may develop in the fallopian tube after sterilization which may undergo torsion resulting in patient presenting
