Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

A Cylindrically Anisotropic Tube Containing a Mixed Dislocation

open access: yesJournal of Mechanics, 2010
AbstractThis study presents an analytical methodology for solving an elastic problem of a cylindrically anisotropic tube infused with eigenstrains. The general solutions for the particular case of a tube containing a mixed dislocation are also provided.

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Inconsistencies in the Notions of Acoustic Stress and Streaming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Inviscid hydrodynamics mediates forces through pressure and other, typically irrotational, external forces. Acoustically induced forces must be consistent with arising from such a pressure field.

Invited review: Effect of temperature on a granular pile

open access: yes, 2010
As a fragile construction, a granular pile is very sensitive to minute external perturbations. In particular, it is now well established that a granular assembly is sensitive to variations of temperature.

Loss of proton‐sensing GPR4 reduces tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
G protein‐coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) is a pH‐sensing receptor activated by acidic pH. GPR4 expression is increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at high risk of developing colorectal cancer. In mouse models, loss of GPR4 attenuated tumor progression. This correlated with increased IL2 and natural killer cell activity.

Aclimatização de mudas micropropagadas de Bastão do Imperador em diferentes volumes de recipientes Acclimatization of micropropagated seedlings of Torch Lily in containers of different capacities

open access: yesRevista Ceres, 2013

CROP COEFFICIENT, DRY MATTER PARTITION AND SEEDLINGS QUALITY OF Hymenaea courbaril L. IN CONTAINERS SIZES UNDER WATER DEFICIT IRRIGATION1

open access: yesRevista Árvore, 2017
Native species seedlings are commonly used in the degraded areas reforestation, riparian forests and legal reserve. Among the factors that influence the seedlings quality, are the container size and the substrate water availability.
