Nitrogen-Containing Carbon Tubes Fabricated by Light Irradiation

Langmuir
Cotton-core/polypyrrole (PPy)-sheath fibers (cotton/PPy fibers) were synthesized by aqueous chemical oxidative seeded polymerization and were utilized as precursors for nitrogen-containing carbon (NCC) tubes. Irradiation of the cotton/PPy fibers with a near-infrared (NIR) laser heated them to approximately 300 °C due to light-to-heat photothermal ...

Sustained Flexibility in Infant Feeding Tubes Containing Nonmigrating Plasticizer

Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, 1982
Due to medical complications related to stiffness developed in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) feeding tubes presently manufactured with di‐octylphthalate (DOP), we have assessed the flexibility of PVC tubes manufactured with a nonmigrating plasticizer, ti‐octyltrimellitate (TOTM) (National Catheter Co., Argyle, NY).

Changing Intravenous Tubing Containing Burettes-Reply

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1985
In Reply.— The statement by Ms Josephson that the 24-hour specimen results in the 48-hour group do not contribute to the determination of safety at 48 hours is incorrect. We were unwilling to make that assumption. In fact, some burettes in the 48-hour group were contaminated at 24 hours but not at 48 hours.

Rabbit facial nerve regeneration in NGF‐containing silastic tubes

The Laryngoscope, 1993
AbstractPrevious reports suggest that exogenous nerve growth factor (NGF) enhanced nerve regeneration in rabbit facial nerves.1 Rabbit facial nerve regeneration in 10‐mm Silastic® tubes prefilled with NGF was compared to cytochrome C (Cyt. C), bridging an 8‐mm nerve gap.

Stability of a Rotating Thin Elastic Tube Containing a Fluid Flow

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1973
AbstractThe stability of an infinitely long circular tube containing an inviscid incompressible fluid flow, both rotating at a constant angular velocity, is studied within the framework of the linear theory of elasticity. The result shows that rotation causes an empty tube to become unstable, and enhances the instability of a tube containing a flowing ...

Turbulent flow in a tube containing an offset rod

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 1988
AbstractA numerical finite volume prediction method for arbitrary‐shaped passages has been applied to the case of fully developed axial turbulent flow past a rod eccentrically placed in a circular tube. The numerical method was based on an orthogonal curvilinear mesh and employed an algebraic stress transport model to calculate the full three ...

Cylindrically Anisotropic Tubes Containing a Line Dislocation

Volume 3: Design and Analysis, 2006
An analytical solution of the problem of a cylindrically anisotropic tube which contains a line dislocation is presented in this study. The state space formulation in conjunction with the eigenstrain theory is proved to be a feasible and systematic methodology to analyze a tube with the existence of dislocations.

Alveolar ridge augmentation with collagen tubes containing bone and hydroxylapatite

International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1992
The use of collagen tube containers with implants of an autogenous bone and particulate hydroxylapatite composite is reported. The tubes were used to shape the mixture and to facilitate its implantation in cases of severe mandibular resorption. Following a minimum of 60 months after implant placement and a minimum of 48 months of denture wear, the ...
