Wrinkling Study in Tube Hydroforming Process
Key Engineering Materials, 2011Tube Hydroforming Process (THF) is heavily affected by the pressure-displacement diagram, and adjustment of the raw tube. Three common defects of the process are bursting, buckling and wrinkling. In this work, the leading conditions to wrinkling defect have been studied.

Analytical modelling of tube hydroforming
Thin-Walled Structures, 1999The automotive industry has shown a growing interest in tube hydroforming during the past years. The advantages of hydroforming (less thinning, a more efficient manufacturing process etc.) can, for instance, be combined with the high strength of extra high strength steels, which are usually less formable, to produce structural automotive components ...

Formability of Micro-Tubes in Hydroforming
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011Micro‐hydroforming is a down‐scaled metal forming process, based on the expansion of micro‐tubes by internal pressurization within a die cavity. The objective of micro‐hydroforming is to provide a technology for the economic mass production of complex shaped hollow micro‐components.

Tube size effect on hydroforming formability
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2005Abstract The excessive thinning generated in hydroformed products using tubular blank is attributable to the contact friction force restraining the tube wall movement on the tool inner surface. Therefore, it is fundamental and significant to take tube diameter as large as possible prior to designing a promising loading path.

Theoretical Analysis of Hydroforming of Tubes
Academic Journal of Manufacturing Engineering, 2007The tube hydroforming demands certain theoretical analysis verified with numerical analysis. In this paper is shown numerical simulation of tube hydroforming for different kind of materials and defined value of coefficient of friction. The obtained results are presented the change of tube thickness, as well as, stress and diagram of axial forces during

Characterizing steel tube for hydroforming applications
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2004Abstract With the increased use of tubular steel products, especially for hydroforming applications, it is important to be able to predict the performance of tube from sheet tensile tests. In the present study, two aluminum killed draw quality (AKDQ) steels and one high strength low alloy (HSLA) steel were evaluated.

Analysis of Tube Expansion by Hydroforming
Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers A, 2002Recently the hydroforming technology has drawn a lot of attention because of its capability to produce high quality and light weight parts. In the present study, the tube expansion - one of the simplest hydroforming processes, has been investigated in order to understand fundamental phenomena such as deformation characteristics and effect of process ...
