Self-ignited flame behavior of high-pressure hydrogen release by rupture disk through a long tube
, 2021Accelerated adoption of hydrogen gas for energy storage requires improved safety for hydrogen storage. In particular, control of self-ignition of hydrogen vented through tubes by pressure relief devices (overpressure protection devices), such as rupture ...

Abstract A multiple steam generator tube rupture (MSGTR) event has never occurred in the commercial operation of nuclear reactors while single steam generator tube rupture (SGTR) events are reported to occur every 2 years. As there has been no occurrence of a MSGTR event, the understanding of transients and consequences of this event is very limited.

Tracheal Rupture, Complication of Cuffed Endotracheal Tube
Chest, 1971A patient with tracheal laceration due to over inflation and rupture of the cuff of endotracheal tube is reported. The patient was operated within 24 hours with excellent results. Examination three years after reveals only a megatrachea. The importance of prompt diagnosis and treatment as the only way to obtain survival with no complication is stressed.

Speaking of myelomeningocele, 2 centuries ago Morgagni1stated his belief that these watery tumors of the vertebrae result from the pressure of fluid descending in the tube of the spine from the hydrocephalic head, producing a dropsy of both together.

Tracheobronchial Ruptures due to Cuffed Carlens Tubes
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1979At our institution in the past 22 years, more than 3,000 patients have undergone chest procedures, and 2,700 of them were intubated with a cuffed Carlens endotracheal tube. In this paper we report on 5 patients with tracheobronchial ruptures caused by intubation with these tubes. We believe this hazard should be brought to the attention of physicians.

Structural response of calandria tube to a spontaneous rupture of the pressure tube
International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 1988Abstract The primary function of calandria tubes in a CANDU (CANada Deuterium Uranium) pressurized heavy water reactor is to minimize the heat loss from the heat transport system to the cool moderator by providing an insulating gas annulus. Circulation of an inert gas in the annulus also provides an effective leak detection capability. During certain
