An Innovative Technique to Repair Cervical Oesophageal Perforation using Oro-oesophageal Tube and AMBU

open access: yesBengal Journal of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery, 2019
Introduction Oesophageal perforation is a rare condition and has high morbidity and mortality. Both the morbidity and mortality are directly related to the delay in diagnosis and start of treatment.

Acute splenic rupture following laparoscopic pneumoperitoneum: A case report

open access: yesTrauma Case Reports, 2019
Introduction: Splenic rupture after laparoscopic surgery is a very rare complication. In this study, we report a case of a splenic laceration that occurred during a laparoscopic gastrostomy tube placement.

Adaptive Lagrangian–Eulerian computation of propagation and rupture of a liquid plug in a tube [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Liquid plug propagation and rupture occurring in lung airways can have a detrimental effect on epithelial cells. In this study, a numerical simulation of a liquid plug in an infinite tube is conducted using an Eulerian–Lagrangian approach and the ...

Anesthetic consideration for airway management of patients undergoing endoscopic fibrin glue treatment of tracheobronchial rupture: a case series of three patients

open access: yesPerioperative Medicine, 2018
Tracheobronchial ruptures are very severe and life-threatening injuries. The origin of such airway damage is trauma or an iatrogenic event. Last year, we operated on three different cases of tracheal ruptures using endobronchial suture with three ...

N-Reactor shutdown for fuel rupture indications - tube 3361

open access: yes, 1964
The N-Reactor was shutdown on July 7, 1964, due to fuel rupture indications on tube 3361. The rupture has been confirmed as a failure in the downstream inner fuel element in tube 3361 caused by a pin hole in the weld and braze metal.

Heat Exchanger System Piping Design for a Tube Rupture Event

open access: yes, 2012
: Tube-rupture events in shell and tube heat exchangers can result in significantly high surge pressures. Steady state and dynamic methods can be used to assess the impacts of these events on heat exchanger system piping networks. This paper presents the

Numerical study of the influence of the rupture of burst discs on shock wave propagation in hydrogen-oxygen detonation tube

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Hydrogen-oxygen detonation tube has a wide range of applications. However, the role of burst discs is often oversimplified, overlooking the detrimental effects of their non-ideal rupture on shock wave propagation.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Intraoperatively Diagnosed Tracheal Tear after Using an NIM EMG ETT with Previously Undiagnosed Tracheomalacia

open access: yesCase Reports in Anesthesiology, 2013
Tracheal rupture is a rare complication of endotracheal intubation. We present a case of tracheal rupture that was diagnosed intraoperatively after the use of an NIM EMG endotracheal tube.
