Recent advances in multimodality imaging‐guided therapy in pericarditis
Multiple imaging targets have been identified as essential biomarkers to confirm pericardial thickening, edema, neovascularization, inflammation, fibrosis/calcification, cardiac tamponade physiology, and constriction. This novel approach is called imaging‐guided therapy, which guides anti‐inflammatory therapy, assesses treatment response, assists in ...

What Causes Bilateral Pleural Effusion: A Case Report
Transudative–exudative pleural effusion may be one of the clinical manifestations of tuberculous pericarditis. PET/CT in the diagnosis and efficacy evaluation of tuberculous pericarditis is valuable, and the central venous pressure may be an indicator of choice for surgical treatment of tuberculous pericarditis.

Tuberculosis: An Update for the Clinician
ABSTRACT Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant global health threat with high mortality and efforts to meet WHO End TB Strategy milestones are off‐track. It has become clear that TB is not a dichotomous infection with latent and active forms but presents along a disease spectrum.

Tuberculosis Associated Chylothorax: A Case Report
This is a case report on a TB associated chylothorax who underwent thoracic duct ligation. ABSTRACT Chylothorax is the accumulation of chyle in the pleural cavity. Tuberculosis is one of its rarest causes. Diagnosis of chylothorax can be made by evaluation of triglycerides concentration in pleural fluid. It is primarily managed medically but surgery is

Unraveling Heart Inflammation: Recurrent Myopericarditis Caused by Coxsackie A Virus—A Case Report
ABSTRACT Acute recurrent myopericarditis, characterized by the occurrence of a new myopericarditis event following a symptom‐free interval of 4–6 weeks, is relatively rare lacking definitive guidelines for management. Understanding its prevalence, causes, and optimal management is challenging due to limited data and insufficient guidelines.

Recurrent pericarditis in older adults: Clinical and laboratory features and outcome
Abstract Background Current guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of pericarditis refer to the general adult population. Few and fragmentary data regarding recurrent pericarditis in older adults exist. Objective of the Study Given the absence of specific data in scientific literature, we hypothesized that there might be clinical, laboratory and ...

Constrictive pericarditis in patients with tuberculous pericarditis.
Constrictive pericarditis is a complication of tuberculous pericarditis that necessitates surgical intervention. In this study, we sought to identify echocardiographic features that could predict the development of constrictive pericarditis from acute or subacute pericarditis.

Abstract Constrictive pericarditis is a rare disease. Localized constrictive pericarditis leading to bilateral pleural effusion is more difficult to recognize, and the diagnostic procedure can be ambiguous. Here, we report two patients diagnosed with localized constrictive pericarditis who presented with bilateral pleural effusion.
