Integrated VES–ERI–MASW‐Geotechnical Investigation for Building Foundation Site Suitability at the Proposed Wachemo University Referral Hospital, Hosanna, Central Ethiopia

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Integrated VES, ERI, and MASW surveys, constrained by boreholes, delineate a central low‐resistivity/low‐V s weak corridor and more competent volcanic strata at depth. The eastern sector offers preferable foundation conditions, while identified weak zones require ground improvement or deep foundations to mitigate differential‐settlement risk.

Origins of the Pangkaimen Au Deposit in the Northern Great Xing'an Range, China: Evidence From Geochronological, Geochemical, Fluid Inclusion, and H–O–S–Pb Isotope Data

open access: yesGeological Journal, Volume 61, Issue 5, Page 1291-1309, May 2026.
The Pangkaimen Au–Ag deposits belong to the epithermal Au deposits, which are of great significance for guiding the research and development of this type of gold deposit. Metallogenic model diagram of Pangkaimen Au–Ag deposit. ABSTRACT The gold (Au) metallogenic belt in the northern Great Xing'an Range is characterised by the wide occurrence of the ...

Reconstructing the Holocene explosive eruptive history of the Erciyes volcano (Turkey) using proximal and distal tephra records

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, Volume 41, Issue 4, Page 645-659, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Mount Erciyes, the largest active volcano of Central Anatolia (Turkey), erupted explosively during the Holocene, producing the Karagüllü, Perikartin and Dikkartin tuff rings. Even though major cities like Kayseri and its ~1 million residents sit directly on these pyroclastic deposits, the timing and magnitude of the explosive eruptions have ...

EFFECT OF N, P, K CONCENTRATIONS ON YIELD AND FRUIT QUALITY OF TOMATO (SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM L.) IN TUFF CULTURE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2010
This study concluded that high concentration of N, P and K in the nutrient solution gave higher total yield and tomato fruit weight than the control nutrient solution in tuff culture grown tomato.

Interior Rifting Coupled With Peripheral Subduction in the Rodinia Supercontinent: New Insights From the Tarim Craton

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract After assembly, supercontinents are shaped by internal rifting and peripheral subduction. However, the geodynamic relationship between these two processes and their respective contributions to supercontinent breakup remain poorly understood.

Ediacara Obscura: Unveiling Hidden Magnetisations in the Fen Complex, Southern Norway

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Paleomagnetic directions found in Ediacaran (635–539 Ma) rocks are widely dispersed, which has led to conflicting hypotheses about tectonic regimes and geomagnetic field behavior during this period, and raised doubts about the fidelity of the paleomagnetic record.

Miocene Petit-Spot Basanitic Volcanoes on Cretaceous Alba Guyot (Magellan Seamount Trail, Pacific Ocean)

open access: yesGeosciences
New data obtained from core samples of two boreholes and dredged samples from the Alba Guyot in the Magellan Seamount Trail (MST), Western Pacific, including the 40Ar/39Ar age determinations of basanite, and the mineralogy of basanite, tuff, tuffite ...

Understanding mountain soils : a contribution from mountain areas to the International Year of Soils 2015 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A volcanic tuff rock known as cangahua (Ecuador) or tepetate (Mexico) is found throughout the Andes. Problems have arisen as the layers of light but fragile soil that once covered the tuff have been lost for both natural (environmental) reasons and ...

Assessing Deposit‐Derived Pyroclastic Flow Hazard at Stromboli (Italy): 1. Reconstruction of the Dynamics of the 11 September 1930 Event

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Stromboli volcano (Italy) is known for its persistent explosive activity punctuated by more energetic explosions called paroxysms. During paroxysms, pyroclastic density currents, triggered by the gravitational instability of hot pyroclastic deposits, can occur.
