Relapsing-remitting tumefactive multiple sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis Journal, 2005Tumefactive multiple sclerosis (MS) is a rare form of demyelinating disease. The natural course of the disease has been characterized as presenting with a mass-like demyelinating lesion converting to typical relapsing-remitting disease with future exacerbations.

Late-onset tumefactive multiple sclerosis
Radiation Medicine, 2008A patient with tumefactive multiple sclerosis (MS) initially presented at the age of 87 years; the revised diagnostic criteria from the International Panel on MS (2001) were fulfilled. Late-onset MS and tumefactive demyelinating lesions are discussed. This case suggests that MS can occur at any age. MS should be borne in mind for differential diagnosis

Bilateral Tumefactive Multiple Sclerosis Lesions
Rivista di Neuroradiologia, 2005Tumefactive lesions are a rare form of multiple sclerosis (MS) presentation often provoking a diagnostic dilemma with brain tumour or abscess. We describe two cases of tumefactive demyelinating MS plaques and two different approaches. In the first patient the clinical and laboratory findings were consistent with MS, a diagnosis supported by the rapid ...

Tumefactive Multiple Sclerosis Masquerading as High Grade Glioma
World Neurosurgery, 2018Tumefactive multiple sclerosis is a demyelinating lesion that can radiographically mimic high-grade gliomas during acute episodes, thus affecting clinical decision making. A delay in appropriate diagnoses can result in unnecessary invasive resections. The following case is a patient with unilateral weakness and radiologic findings that were concerning ...

18F-FDG PET/CT in Tumefactive Multiple Sclerosis
Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2014A 35-year-old man underwent contrast-enhanced MRI and F-FDG PET/CT for acute peripheral paresthesia, vision loss, muscle weakness, and difficulty walking. T2-weighted MRI demonstrated multiple bright periventricular supratentorial and infratentorial white matter lesions, including 2 with nodularity. Both nodular lesions showed moderate focal FDG uptake
