Tunable polymer lens

open access: yesOptics Express, 2008
A new type of solid-state variable focal length lens is described. It is based on shape changes in an elastomeric membrane driven by compression of a reservoir of a polymer gel. A novel fabrication process based on individual lens components allows for customization of lens power based on the desired application. The lens shape as a function of applied

Black Phosphorus-New Nanostructured Material for Humidity Sensors: Achievements and Limitations

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The prospects of using nanostructured black phosphorus for the development of humidity sensors are considered. It was shown that black phosphorus has a set of parameters that distinguish it from other two-dimensional (2D) materials such as graphene ...

A tunable microcavity

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2011
We present a generic microcavity platform for cavity experiments on optically active nanostructures, such as quantum dots, nanocrystals, color centers, and carbon nanotubes. The cavity is of the Fabry-Pérot type with a planar back mirror and a miniature concave top mirror with radius of curvature ∼ 100 μm.

Tunable pH Sensitive Lipoplexes

open access: yes, 2023
To provide long circulating nanoparticles able to carry a gene to tumor cells, we have designed anionic pegylated lipoplexes which are pH sensitive. The reduction of positive charges in nucleic acid carriers allows reducing the elimination rate, increasing circulation time in the blood, leading to improved tumor accumulation of lipid nanoparticles ...

Tunable Axion Plasma Haloscopes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
We propose a new strategy to search for dark matter axions using tunable cryogenic plasmas. Unlike current experiments, which repair the mismatch between axion and photon masses by breaking translational invariance (cavity and dielectric haloscopes), a plasma haloscope enables resonant conversion by matching the axion mass to a plasma frequency.

Combined atomic force microscope and electron-beam lithography used for the fabrication of variable-coupling quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We have combined direct nanofabrication by local anodic oxidation with conventional electron-beam lithography to produce a parallel double quantum dot based on a GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure.
