New Developments in the Field of Production and Application of Multi‐Material Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing Components: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The utilization of direct energy deposition (DED)‐arc additive manufacturing processes in industrial applications is increasing, and these processes have the potential for multi‐material applications. This work provides a overview of the state of research in DED‐arc made functional graded structures, to establish a link to potential industrial ...

Accuracy and transferability of Gaussian approximation potential models for tungsten [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce interatomic potentials for tungsten in the bcc crystal phase and its defects within the Gaussian approximation potential framework, fitted to a database of first-principles density functional theory calculations.

Electrospark‐Deposited AlCrFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings on Steel: Microstructure Evolution, Mechanical Properties, and Corrosion Response

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
AlCrFeCoNi high entropy alloy coating is applied on steel using electrospark deposition. The microstructure evolution and phase transformation of the as‐deposited and heat‐treated coatings is characterized and discussed. Reduced microhardness and yield strength are measured after heat treatment.

Simulation of flow field in low-resistance Venturi vibrating wire grid dust removal system

open access: yes矿业科学学报
The distribution of the flow field in the dust collector significantly affects its performance. The uniform distribution of the flow field is conducive to the dust reduction of the system, thus it requires the use of simulation software to simulate and ...

Lower-cost tungsten-rhenium alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Tungsten-rhenium alloys with a substantially more dilute rhenium content have ductilities and other mechanical properties which compare favorably with the tungsten-rhenium alloys having much higher concentrations of the costly ...

Optical properties of tungsten thin films perforated with a bidimensional array of subwavelength holes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We present a theorical investigation of the optical transmission of a dielectric grating carved in a tungsten layer. For appropriate wavelengths tungsten shows indeed a dielectric behaviour.
