Ecological Insights Into the Extinct Korean Sea Lion (Zalophus japonicus) in Korea Based on Stable Isotope Analysis of Bone Collagen

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 39, Issue 24, 30 December 2025.
ABSTRACT Rationale The Japanese sea lion (Zalophus japonicus), once abundant in Japan, Korea, and Russia, went extinct by the mid‐20th century due to hunting and environmental change. This study examines the diet and ecological role of Korean Z. japonicus using stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis of bone collagen from archaeological and ...

Electrochemical preparation of tungsten, tungsten carbide and cemented tungsten carbide

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, 2013
Tungsten is conventionally made by the reduction of tungsten oxide with hydrogen, tungsten carbide by the reaction of tungsten with carbon and cemented tungsten carbide by the sintering together of tungsten carbide with a metal, usually cobalt. This paper reports the electrochemical preparation of tungsten, tungsten carbide and cemented tungsten ...

CEMENTED TUNGSTEN CARBIDE PNEUMOCONIOSIS

Acta Pathologica Japonica, 1978
An autopsy case of cemented tungsten carbide pneumoconiosis, the first lethal case in our country, is presented. A 28‐year‐old woman, who had been engaged in grinding presintered metallic matrix for four years, developed respiratory symptoms. X‐ray examinations were indicative of interstitial pulmonary fibrosis.

Constructing Pure Phase Tungsten-Based Bimetallic Carbide Nanosheet as an Efficient Bifunctional Electrocatalyst for Overall Water Splitting.

Small, 2020
Carbides are commonly regarded as efficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts, but their poor oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalytic activities seriously limit their practical application in overall water splitting.

Improvement in performance of cryogenically treated tungsten carbide tools in face milling of Ti-6Al-4V alloy

Materials and Manufacturing Processes, 2020
Cryogenic treatment process is seen as a supplement to heat treatment process, as it is able to instate comparative performance characteristics to workparts, as seen in the case of heat treatment processes, without any instability and dimensional ...
