Development of Laterally Graded X‐Ray Multilayer Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of laterally graded X‐ray multilayer optics with both constant and variable lateral gradients. By precisely controlling substrate speed profiles and mask design, these multilayers achieve highly accurate lateral gradients and excellent sagittal thickness uniformity, making them ideal for spectroscopy application at ...

Additive Manufacturing of Cemented Tungsten Carbide with a Cobalt-Free Alloy Binder by Selective Laser Melting for High-Hardness Applications

open access: yesJOM, 2019
Cemented tungsten carbide (WC) is commonly used for wear-resistant applications, such as cutting tools and abrasives due to its extremely high hardness. This hardness leads to post-process machining of WC to be time- and cost-intensive.

Experimental Isolation of Single Impact, Cumulative Energy, Aging, and Liquid‐Assisted Grinding Effects in Mechanochemical Reactions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An experimental framework is introduced to isolate single‐impact and cumulative energy within a mechanochemical system. The guided, stepwise approach highlights the fundamental roles of impact events, post‐impact reactivity, and liquid‐assisted grinding additives in all‐solid mechanochemical reactions.

IL‐4/STAT6‐signaling Influences Local Inflammation and Regeneration Processes During Acute Pancreatitis and Promotes Fibrosis by a Direct Activation of Pancreatic Fibroblasts During Chronic Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IL‐4/IL‐13/STAT6 signaling plays a crucial for the suppression of pro‐inflammation during acute pancreatitis and supports acinar cell regeneration but has only minor impact on fibrogenesis during chronic form of the disease. IL‐4/IL‐13 induce the expression of certain collagens directly in pancreatic fibroblasts via STAT6 activation, whereas ...
