Abstract Graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) of tungsten oxide fluorides and tungsten hexafluoride, CxWO2F2, CxWOF4 and CxWF6, have been prepared in a fluorine atmosphere, and the effect of fluorine substitution by oxygen on the electrical conductivity has been investigated.
