Untreated Rupture of the Tunica Albuginea [PDF]

open access: yesMayo Clinic Proceedings, 1986
A patient with untreated rupture of the tunica albuginea underwent surgical exploration 6 weeks after acute scrotal trauma. A layer of epithelium had grown across the bulging seminiferous tubules, and no further surgical repair was necessary. This spontaneous repair phenomenon has not previously been reported pictorially in the human testis.

Predictive factors of late venous aortocoronary graft failure: ultrastructural studies. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
BACKGROUND: Venous aortocoronary graft arterialization may precede a preterm occlusion in some coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) patients. The aim of the present study was to identify ultrastructural variations in the saphenous vein wall that may ...

Protein Transduction Method for Cerebrovascular Disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Many studies have shown that a motif of 11 consecutive arginines (11R) is one of the most effective protein transduction domains (PTD) for introducing proteins into the cell membrane.

Immune cells and vasa vasorum in the tunica media of atherosclerotic coronary arteries.

open access: yesBosnian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences, 2018
In coronary artery disease (CAD), the disruption of the tunica media immune privilege manifests as increased leukocyte infiltration and the formation of vasa vasorum.

Alteration of colonic excitatory tachykininergic motility and enteric inflammation following dopaminergic nigrostriatal neurodegeneration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is frequently associated with gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms, including constipation and defecatory dysfunctions. The mechanisms underlying such disorders are still largely unknown, although the occurrence of a bowel ...

Inhibition of penile tunica albuginea myofibroblasts activity by adipose-derived stem cells.

open access: yesExperimental and Therapeutic Medicine, 2017
The activation of tunica albuginea myofibroblasts (MFs) serves an essential role in Peyronie's disease (PD). Increasing evidence has reported that adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ADSCs) have been demonstrated to attenuate the symptoms of PD in animal ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...
